The administration and records office maintains all incident and accident reports generated by the Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, all traffic citations are processed through this office and forwarded to the proper judicial courts.
They also provide copies of incident and accident reports to citizens upon request as required by the Georgia Open Records Act. Individuals who desire a copy of an incident or accident report should contact the Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours. You may phone the request, with proper information to identify the incident or accident report, prior to coming in to pick up the report. State-issued identification must be shown before the report will be released. Copies of incident reports are available at a rate of $0.10 per page. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §40-9-30, all motor vehicle accident reports carry a fee of $5.00 per report.
Impounded vehicle releases can also be picked up. Proper paperwork and identification are required prior to the release form being given to the vehicle owner.
This office also processes state background checks. A criminal history release form must be filled out and signed prior to the release of this information. A criminal history report is available at the rate of $15.00
