Animal Control
The Union County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division consists of two full time sworn Deputy Sheriff’s. They are assigned to investigate issues concerning domesticated animals. They respond to nuisance complaint issues, injured animals, and animal related bite cases.
In addition, the Animal Control Deputies investigate conditions concerning animal welfare, cruelty, and housing concerns. Depending on the nature of the issue we also assist Department of Agriculture with horse, cattle, or chicken investigations.
The staff oversees shelter operations and works closely with a local rescue organizations in an attempt to either adopt or locate other arrangements for the animals. They work along with the Mountain Shelter and Humane Society.
